Feelin’ a little bit of Spring fever, Karen and I went out to Rock Cut State Park, near Rockford. I’m not sure why we’ve never made it out there before. It’s barely a 30 minute drive from where we live. The hiking is not spectacular, like at Turkey Run, but it was a beautiful day. Temperatures in the high 50’s and clear skies.
We hiked around Pierce Lake. I’m just guessing about the distance but I put it at around 3-4 miles. Hiking through the thawing snow was like walking through sand, which made it feel more like 10 miles. Click on the image below to see the set on Flickr.
